iMovie Exporting Error -1

Hi There,

I'm having trouble exporting an iMovie file. Every time I try to export, it gets about half way through the file and then a message pops up that exporting has failed and:

The operation couldn’t be completed. (com.apple.Compressor.CompressorKit.ErrorDomain error -1.

I've tried a software update, rebooting in safe mode and restarting. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!
Maggie

Hi, Maggie,

The Safe mode reboot has been successful for several others, but obviously it has not worked for you. A reinstall of iMovie has worked for some as well.

You might try doing an Edit/Select All, Edit/Copy, of all the media in your project and Edit/Paste it into a newly created project and try sharing out from the new project.

You can also try opening iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and selecting to delete preferences in the box that appears.

Another thing would be to open iMovie in the Guest account on your computer and see if your project shares from there.

Finally, you can try opening iMovie in a new library by holding down the Option key as you open, and selecting a different library, or creating a new library, for iMovie to open in .
