Does my Macbook Pro support AAC codec for Bluetooth?

I'm using a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)

OS: MacOS 10.12.6 Sierra

My bluetooth headphone supports AAC codec. Does my MBP?

I used Bluetooth explorer to make sure AAC is active. I tested with Aptx disabled as well.

If Aptx is disabled I get SBC, not AAC.

I can't find that info on the web. It would be shame if MBP supports Aptx and not AAC.

I have the exact same Macbook Pro and was in the same situation. Unfortunately only newer models of MacBook pros support AAC over bluetooth. I can't find the article which listed which Macs are compatible with AAC BT. But I do know your mac, and mine, are not supported unfortunately.

I have resorted to using my iPhone 7 for bluetooth music - which supports AAC BT as does my headphones (B and W PX). The sound is great. When on my laptop I use wired headphones or an external AptX-HD module plugged into my headphone out port.
