is Disk Inventory X safe to use on Mac OS X Yosemite

I am trying to find out in detail what is taking up so much storage space. Most is in Other Is Disk Inventory X safe to use

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Yes, and OmniDiskSweeper is another one. But Not so fast.


The reports of amounts in different categories comes from Spotlight Index. The spotlight index gets stale as files turn over on your Mac. For best information, you really should force it to compute a new Index. It takes an hour or more in the background.
