instagram app not showing full screen

On both my iPhone 6S and iPad Air2 when I try to log in to Instagram, and get the "suspicious login attempt" screen, the entire screen is not showing. It lets me choose whether to send a text or email with the security code, but the bottom of the screen where the submit button is to get the code is cut off so I can't get the code. Using the 1X/2X on the iPad does nothing either. I've uninstalled/reinstalled the app, rebooted the device, etc. Nothing changes. It was working find a few days ago, now all of a sudden, this.
