How do I determine the file size of the photo collection in Icloud?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014), Mac OS X (10.7.5)

If iCloud Photos Library is enabled on your Mac, you can see the size of the photos in iCloud in the System Preferences > iCloud > Manage. It will show you the size in iCloud.

On the iCloud web page www.icloud.com you can see the storage used by photos, if you open the settings and click on the bar showing the storage use:
