MBP touch bar icon for PiP not found

I have picture in picture on my iMac 27" 5K and on my iPad Pro, however, I cannot find the PiP icon to drag into the touch bar on my 15" MBP touch bar. I am running Mac OS 10.12.6. I find instructions online for doing this, however, they all show the PiP icon which I cannot find anywhere: not in the touch bar customization control options or in the video window of YouTube or other sites streaming video or in Safari Settings or in Apple Settings. Does it really exist? If so, where do I find it to install so I can drag into touch bar?

Hello faineoller,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you are unable to find the Picture in Picture option on your MacBook Pro that you get on your iMac and iPad Pro. To help with this issue, please follow this step:

If you don't see a Picture-in-Picture button, hold down the Control key and double-click inside the video to open a shortcut menu. Then choose Enter Picture-in-Picture, if available.

Next, use safe mode to start up your Mac as it does the following things:

Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

Loads only required kernel extensions

Prevents startup items and login items from opening automatically

Disables user-installed fonts

Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

Log into your user account and test the issue while in safe mode and then restart normally and test the issue again.

Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac
Limited graphics performance in OS X recovery or safe mode
