my pound sign has gone
Having upgraded to el capitain 10.11.6 i have lost the pound sign on my key board ,I have tried getting it back in preferences ,but still the same .Can anyone help ? thanks.

Have you checked System Preferences/Keyboard/Input Sources to make sure the desired language is set? Try holding down the option/alt key when clicking the 3 key.
