Extremely Slow and Laggy Macbook Pro
Hi all,
I have a macbook Pro retina mid 2012, i7, 250 ssd, 16gb ram
I need to inform you all I'm a beginner when comes to mac
I recently upgraded to High Sierra. And it seemed to be running fine but the next start up it was unbelievably slow and Laggy. I simply thought a restart would do the job but then ran into a message saying
The path /System/Installation/Packages/OSInstall.mpkg appears to be missing or damaged
After performing suggestions to do nvram and another reset. Another said to go into safe mode which worked to get past the error but again was even slower if that was possible.
I should state that everything is slow, the boot is slow, using disk utility at start up is laggy. First aid shows no errors
I have performed a reinstall of high Sierra which only got me into the os but after a restart again the same error message.
After getting around that I thought I'm just going to go back to Sierra. Downloaded it, made a USB boot of it. Erased the drive. And started installing. It is still lagging even now during install, the cursor jumpy and laggy. It showed 7 mins to complete install, it now shows 4 mins left after waiting 3 HOURS : O. And I am using a fast SanDisk 3.0 USB drive.
I have no idea what is going on, I would really appreciate some help.
Kind Regards
Adam
