recovery install osx- sign into apple id without mouse

Hello, I'm trying to install osx on my macbook in recovery mode without a mouse using a usb drive (my trackpad works, I just can't click with it). I was able to get so far as to select my usb drive to install to, but only by using voiceover. Afterward it opens a new window for me to log into my apple id which is where I have a problem. I'm able to navigate the install osx screen using commands, but the apple id window seems to be separate; I can't tab over to it and I can't access it with voiceover (in fact everything in the background shows the loading wheel). Anyone know a command that will allow me to switch over to the apple id log in window? I have tried cmd+tab, cmd+shift+tab, cmd+`,cmd+shift+` with no success. Please help!

Nevermind, I was able to figure it out with voiceover:

cmd+f5 will start voiceover

hover mouse over apple id login window (leave it there!)

hold down control+option and press "h" button twice to bring up voiceover help menu

use arrow key down to "navigation" and hit enter

arrow key down to "move voiceover cursor to mouse point" and hit enter

that should "click" on whatever you mouse cursor is hovering over. voiceover help menu is awesome!!!
