There ain’t EVER goin’ to be no stinkin’ old tech optical drives in iPads.

Macbook/Macbook Pros don’t even have ‘em any longer, either!

Macbook Airs never, ever had optical drives in dem, either!

Apple ended optical drives in all Macs, 6 years, ago!

Extremely doubtful you’ll EVER see an optical in any iPad device!

Especially if iPads start getting even thinner than they are now.
