As I said, you cannot disable the widget screen. But when you press to unlock, you either press again to enter the passcode, or rest your finger very briefly to unlock with touchiD. If the widget screen is showing up at all, that sounds like you’re pressing the home button to unlock, and then swiping left to right?
You cannot disable the widget screen, but you can disable all widgets so nothing shows there. Then just don’t use or access the widget display.
OK, how? This thing just appeared. I have deleted all of the "widgets", no previews. But it has become a game of reflexes to swipe the blank widget screen get a momentary view of the 1st page of the home screen and target an app to open. Haven't tried to open an app on page 2 of Home screen.
I press to unlock (light up the screen) enter the passcode and it opens to the widget screen. Haven't touched the screen except to enter code. It's a newer pad, kind of tough to diagnose through a forum, I think I'll take it to an Apple store. Happy to post solution.
The widget screen only displays when swiping left to right from home page #1.
actually, this is the screen that appears when I turn on the iPad, hence the problem.
It shouldn’t unless you swipe left to right on the screen lock display?
That is the issue. Unlock screen with password and open to the blank (because I turned all of them off) widget screen. I want to turn this off or disable it.
