Photo Albums empty on iPhone

When syncing my iPhone the albums sync, names etc but all of the albums are empty. Despite this I think my photos are on the phone as I have a large amount of storage space taken up by the photos and I can see the pics through the 'places' folder but I want to use the folders that I have been using for years on my iPhone.

All software is up to date.

FYI I'm not using iCloud Photo Library and I dont want to as I have a 128gb iPhone and ca. 60gb of photos.

Photos Creating Empty Albums Following on from a sync issue that I had with iCloud Photos I have decided to try and completely reset my iCloud library. I recovered a Time Machine backup of my Photos library on my Mac and switched off iCloud Photos and that is fine. On my phone , I also switched off iCloud Photos and asked for all photos to be removed, which it did and the library is empty. I checked iCloud.com and the photos are in the deleted bin. However, the following day I looked on my phone and it now shows all of the albums (about 100) I had previously created, but which are now empty. Yet the iPad library is still empty. My question, and the reason for the post, is that the whole mess arose in the first place is because I deleted a couple of empty albums on my phone but this caused the same album on my Mac (which did contain a a few thousand photos) to also be deleted. How do I make sure the iCloud library is completely rest so that when I re-sync the recovered library on the Mac everything starts working as it should?

iCloud is not importing all photos from my iPhone, and importing albums without the photos. iCloud is not importing my iPhone photo library correctly. It skips some of my albums altogether. It also imports other albums without the corresponding photos, so that approximately 50 of my folders that should contain photos are empty folders in the cloud. It also skips entire months of photos that are stored on my iPhone. I have signed in and out of iCloud. Turned iCloud photos off and back on again. Turned off shared folders. Turned My Photo Stream off and back on again. Rebooted my phone. Etc. etc. etc. and ad nauseum, but nothing I've tried solves the problem. I've spent an entire week working on this already. My iCloud storage has 1.5 TB available so it's not a space issue. How do I fix this?

MacOS and iPhone Apple Photo Albums G'day all, I am getting frustrated that the albums on my Mac Apple Photos don't appear in my iPhone albums. I can't work out what is happening. I sync everythis via iCloud, yet they won't appear on the phone. What am I doing wrong? I don't know what other info you'd require so hit me up. Thanks. Gav
