Please be aware, volunteers respond to discussions here in Apple Support Communities. We have no way of knowing what the repair cost might be.

My impression is that this will likely be the "larger" copay for major problems, but they should "make it right" (whatever that takes) under AppleCare+ for up to two such incidents or three years, whichever comes first.

I do not speak for Apple, and AppleCare+ for Macs is still fairly new, so let Readers know how it goes.

Repair cost will also depend upon how old the computer is, if it can be repaired by Apple or you elect to have it done elsewhere, if you have Applecare+, which country, etc.
