iPhone 8 mic

I just bought the iPhone 8, and ever since I upgraded from iPhone 6s I’ve had issues with people hearing me when I call. Ive tried hard resets, and etc cetera. The only thing I’ve found works is switching to speakerphone. Has anyone found a way to turn up the mic sensitivity? This is very annoying. My friend has an iPhone 8, with no issues.
