Is there any way to screen mirror Netflix in MacBook Air to Apple TV?

Hello, as I was trying to screen mirror an episode of Netflix in my Apple TV, it wouldn't let me do it. The Mac is the MacBook Air mid 2012 and I have macOS Sierra version 10.12.6. If there is any way to do it, I'd appreciate your help. Thanks!

Why won’t you use the Netflix app on the Apple TV 2/3/4/5? Or use HDMI cable? More direct, thus better quality.

Screen Mirroring re-encodes the (1366×768 or 1440×900) screen and sends that to the Apple TV. Depending on the graphics processor, that may result in a not-so-smooth watching experience.
