iCloud storage: What is the dark grey segment?

Hi,

I just checked my iCloud storage on my iPad (I’m on iOS 11.3) and noticed something about that bar at the top that represents your storage: To the left is a yellow segment (my pictures and videos), then comes a blue segment (backups), then a orange segment (documents) (so far so good) and then a tiny dark grey segment for which no category name is given. My question: What is this? Is this like the „other“ category when you check the local storage on your device?

Thanks and many greets

Chris

Are you running iOS 11.3? Could it be that this grey segment is related to the messages in the cloud feature that’s still not implemented in iOS 11? Because: As you can see in the attached picture I use 70.4 MB of iCloud Drive storage (only documents so that's the orange segment). In the list there’s also an entry for messages (71 MB, so roughly the same size (I don’t know whether this entry was there before the update)) and the 2 segments are also the same size. Perhaps the messages in the cloud feature is somehow half-implemented ;-)

Hi hippocampus01,

This is just an assumption but: I guess this should work in iOS 11.4 since it looks like Apple is finally going to implement the messages in the cloud feature then and when you then turn it off the Messages app should't take all that space up.

Many greets
