If the drive is as old (2009), then it probably has had a good run, and is ready to be replaced. Are you willing to gamble another failure in the coming months, because reformatting didn’t solve the wear and tear of the mechanics?
I intend to buy a new MacBook but would like to make this one work again. How to proceed? I have T m backup but can’t get started. Need directions.
I was using10.11.6. Now erasing HD. Will follow instructions.
