window media player and rp instilation for my mac

here my prob i am working in health care i brought my mac recently i dont know how to use window media player and real plyer. both are not working after down load , some one suggest to down load flip4mac, i did it but it is not working. i try to down load watchtvonline.com, it download a file which not wroking that file showing like this 'OnlineTV Setup4-1.6.exe'. when i try to open that doc it opens as dictionary,it is so strange. rp is not working it works one one or two times. every time i need to down load rp to work. some one say after download wmp i should decompress files i treid that but still not working.
i am getting frustaton, for me i think it not worth 2000$. because i am not regular computer guy to use this kind of things.
