My ipod isn't showing up on itunes.....

Question

My ipod isn't showing up on itunes.....

My ipod simply isn't showing up in the itunes dock-thing. I've tried each of the steps on the ipod help page. I tried two different cables just to make sure the one I was using wasn't the problem. Well, it turns out it wasn't.

It's odd though because my ipod appears to be charging even though it's not showing up.

Does anyone know what the problem might be?

Try uninstalling iTunes, then reinstalling.

One thing you might check is the dock connector on the bottom of the iPod. Use a magnifying glass and inspect all the pins and make sure none are bend over or broken off. You can charge an iPod simply by giving it the +5V on the two power lines of the USB bus. The other two lines are data and if they are not making a connection then you can get charging but no data and the iPod won't mount. So give that a look over first.

I have a iPod nano. I updated iTunes 7.02 and iPod updater 1.3. My iPod is seen on iTunes only in the DISK MODE. Once I reset it becomes invisible in ITunes and an apple starts to blink in the iPod screen. In the Disk Mode I am able to sync and save songs, however when I try to get back to the normal mode (resetting it) the apple starts to blink, the iPod is not seen in the iTunes and I can't play anything. I did everything suggested in the site and nothing worked.

i restored my ipod and now it wont shrge or sow up on itunes and it wont turn on wat do i do

DOES the nano show up in Apple System Profile under USB?

Why would you want to uninstall iTunes? What version is your iTunes?
