2 factor authentication problem

Each time I sign on with my apple ID, I get a 2 factor authentication message about someone signing in from another state. After changing my appleID password, the first sign in attempt using the new password results in the same problem. I am in north Carolina and it says someone is signing in from Little Rock AR.

I guess they missed the mark!

Not at all.

As Eric says, the location reported comes from your ISP and relates to the IP address they provided you. They register their IP addresses in places that are often a distance away from your actual location. If you use any type of cloaking service, like a VPN it can be from another country entirely.

Apple asked a question about where you are and they report the answer to you.
