Mac OS is not syncing with iCloud

I have several iOS devices that are syncing very well with iCloud. My Mac OS 10.13.3 suddenly stopped syncing. I have stopped and restarted Contacts sharing from System Preferences and rebooted several times with no effect. My iCloud is correct, iOS devices are synced & current but my iMac will not sync.

M1 mac google contacts not syncing I added the google account in accounts as usual, but it wouldn't sync my contacts. I followed the troubleshooting article here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203521 The solution was to remove the google account from internet accounts and it asks "do you want to remove from ALL devices (including my old laptop)?" -> "yes". Then re-add it, and the syncing started immediately.

Contacts I have a problem in OS Mac where my Contact up-dates are not being saved to iCloud (sometimes not even saved locally. I have done an analysis and noted that OS iPhone iPad works without a problem; the problem is only with my MBP & iMac. Any up-date that I make on my iPad or iPhone or in iCloud up-dates all devices, but I can't up-date from the OS Mac machines. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting all devices from iCloud, but this has made no difference. My OS Mac is up-to-date. I have over 2000 contacts and have been relying on Apple for integrity over all devices: any idea what has happened?

Have you tried signing out of iCloud and then back in?
