MacOS could not be installed: Installer resources were not found

Upgrading to high seirra from El capitan. Mid 2012MacBookk pro. Getting an error message.

Earlier was giving a firmware error so read up that I should try repairing EFI disk with terminal commands. Did that now I get this error?

Any suggestions

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. Also try the Safe Mode.
