By I chance I found strange serial device on my iMac (mid 2010, OS X 10.11.6):
On terminal, execute 'ls /dev/{tty,**}.*:'
There I have strange one serial and one terminal devices
/dev/**.DanielS5611V-SerialPort
/dev/tty.DanielS5611V-SerialPort
I cannot explain those two devices. Maybe one you know more about this.
