Messages in iCloud currently disabled. Repair account

I ran IOS 11.3 update. “Messages in ICloud is currently disabled - REPAIR ACCOUNT”. Tapping REPAIR ACCOUNT fails. How do I correct this issue? Messages is not in the list of apps using iCloud.

As per 91101's post of Apr 4, 2018 2:53 PM, I held down the power and volume-down buttons simultaneously until I got the "slide to power off" prompt, powered off then back on and it was gone! (iPhone 5s. Still have to update my iPhone 7 & iPad Air; was holding off due to this issue.)

Now, as for the nature of this beast, it seems obvious that iOS 11.3 has some "Messages in iCloud" code in it. Furthermore, I speculate that this issue is perhaps an unintended dead give-away that Apple is seeding up the Messages in iCloud "space." Moreover, I speculate that users who are already using Messages on multiple devices with the same Apple ID and are already iCloud-syncing other stuff e.g. Notes, Photos, Contacts, Calendars et c., are the most likely to experience this effect. Ironically, I take this effect as an indication that Messages in iCloud is going to come out burning and turning and working swell when it is finally released. 😎

I wouldn’t leave it off though as it’ll give the thieves less security to sneak/hack through also makes it easier to access your most personal info but that’s up to you I wouldn’t recommend leaving it or turning it off at all period ever lol 😂 but Apple needs to fix these small but potentially bad bugs 🐜 that’s the whole reason I left Android in the first place please don’t make me/us regret it Apple.

But If you ignore it your IMessages error wont fix itselft and unfortunately if you do nothing it doesn’t go away on its own I have 3 iPhones of all 12 that I own 6s and also iPhone 6s Plus so I wanted to see if it would correct itself and till this day it Has not corrected it so by doing nothing and not worrying about it doesn’t help the situation and if I’m correct there’s a lot of people that don’t wanna See this everyday with an iCloud msg error or any other errors also everyone wants all their msgs in the same file location for easy access to them that is the first thing that a tech would ask you if you done and if you haven’t then they will walk you through the very same process but again like I stated I’m in no way shape or form trying to be rude or be offensive by any means whatsoever if I hadn’t actually experience this first hand and experimented with the 3 then I’d never even worry about it but that’s not the case

Yeah ok Pam from Maine it has worked for everyone that has done it right successfully wasn’t you just Pam from Maine the other day lol but anyways if you do it right it WILL work... it’s so funny when someone has something to say about something that doesn’t even know what they’re talking about,do you work on phone for a living ?do you even know anything about the phone in the first place or are you just one of those who just always has something to say about something you know absolutely nothing about the only reason you replied is the fact that I had said to not listen to The one “Who said it doesn’t work and doesn’t matter about personal preference obviously it does matter or we wouldn’t be having so many people asking about it in the first place but yeah that’s right I was implying that towards you when i responded to that individual maybe if you learned about the phones hardware you would find and understand a little more clearer about something that you clearly know nothing abouthere’s a little pointer or example if you will this one will be free

Computer/phone

hardware is any physical device used in or with your machine, whereas software is a collection of code installed onto your computer's hard drive. For example, the computer monitor you are using to read this text and the mouse you are using to navigate this web page is computer hardware... now don’t try me I’m not the one you want to tread on

Who are you talking to and what are you on about? Nobody here cares whether you think you are a computer expert or not, nor do we need you to explain what computer hardware is. This issue was a software issue, and is now no longer an issue since the 11.4 software update has provided the long-awaited Messages in iCloud service. There is no Pam from Maine, BTW.
