setup time capsule to an existing network

If you are reporting to us that you have already setup [your] time capsule to an existing network......nice work.

If you are asking us "how" to do this, we need more information from you to be able to try to help.

What router.....make and model number.....is providing your existing WiFi network?

Is your Mac still running Sierra (10.12.6), or have you updated to a more recent operating system?

What model of Time Capsule do you have?

Finally, if you will be using a third party wireless router, you need to be aware that Apple expects you to use the Time Capsule wireless for backups using Time Machine, so they do not officially support Time Machine backups over a third party wireless network.

That being said, things might work over a third party network.....and they might not. No way to really know until you try this out, so there are no guarantees here.
