Where did "gymnastics" workout go?

Hi,

recently I've updated my iwatch series2 to watchos 4.3, and I've realised that gymnastics workout is nowhere to be found. I went to settings everywhere, on my watch, on watch app from my iphone, but there's no gymnastics exercise to "turn back on".

My question is: why have you deleted this exercise? I have back problems and I do phisiotherapy/kinetotherapy, which is also named "medical gymnastics", so that exercise would be my best choice, closest to what I'm doing.

Please bring it back on!

Thank you in advance!

Valentin

Gymnastics isn't a standard Workout type. My guess as to what happened, you had a 'Gymnastics' Workout created from selecting 'Other' and naming it 'Gymnastics' and when you updated to 4.3, something glitched and that custom workout type disappeared.

Here is the official information on 'Other' from the Apple Website:

About workout types - Apple Support

Other

Choose Other when you can't find a matching workout type. When you use Other, you earn the calorie or kilojoule equivalent of a brisk walk anytime sensor readings are unavailable.

At the end of an Other workout, you'll get the option to name your workout. This can help categorize different types of activity, like yoga or dance.

Hi speedster2005,

I don't think you're quite right. Here's why:

1. gymnastics was a standard workout, until 4.3

2. i've never named a workout

3. it had its own icon. i'll try to attach a photo.

4. i don't think naming a workout from "others" will solve my problem. You see, the problem isn't the name, is the way it calculates the calories. For example, if i choose "HIIT" and do exactly the same workout, it shows whole lotta calories burned than "others". This is why i'm saying it doesn't feel right to choose "others" and name it as I wish.

Best regards,
