CAT Tools
Are there any good CAT Tools for MAC users? If not, can you show me how to install Windows on a MacBook Pro Retina 15", Mid 2012?
Thanks

Hi Mimamur,
There are a few basic CAT tools, but the major ones still don't provide support for macOS as far as I know (checked the last time sometime in december). You can, however, look for browser-based CAT tools and completely avoid installing Windows..
Regarding the installation of Windows - you can do that via BootCamp or via a virtual machine.
If you do it via BootCamp, you'll bascially work only on Windows without access to the macOS features (I doubt you want this).
If you use a virtual machine (VM), you can use the macOS and run the CAT tools "in the background" on Windows.
I'm using a virtual machine as I want the macOS to be my main OS and the VM just for the CAT tools.
Let me know should you need any further help!
Cheers!
If I counted correctly, there are eighty three possible meanings of "CAT" listed here.

Which might you possibly mean? None jumped out when I read this list as being the obvious choice.
Thank you sberman for your reply.
CAT stands for "Computer-Aided (or Assisted) Translation", that is, computer applications designed to make the translator's job a lot easier. CAT tools are not automatic translation machines as they won’t translate the text for us, but they help during the process.
An important feature of these tools is that they allow the user to store the previous translations into a database (called TM or translation memory), together with the original texts. When translating the program checks if there are previously translated segments in the source text. In case of repetition, the software automatically reuses the stored translation.
CAT tools are useful for large projects, especially technical texts, because the turnaround time becomes much faster.
These applications are mostly made for Windows users, but recently some have been developed for MAC and Linux users as well.
Thanks for your clarification and information. I learned quite a bit ...
I did find several possibilities listed when I did a Google search for "computer aided translation Mac". Other folks have clearly asked this question before, as you will see there are several articles from reputable sources referenced there.
Thanks connect. Your reply was most helpful and solved my question.
Cheers
