I cant connect my iphone 6 to my macbook air.

I got a fresh and new iphone 6 running ios 11.2.6. And a macbook air running snow leopard 10.6.8. And i have a lot of songs on my macbook that i wanna put on my iphone. But when i connect my iphone via USB a popup notification goes on my computer and it says iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. Could not send a message to the device. And i've tried my best to get it working but it still doesn't work. Is there a way for it to work?!!

If you bought the songs from the iTunes Store, redownload them instead of syncing them, or see below.

If not, you need to either upgrade the MacBook Air’s OS, or sign up for iTunes Match or Apple Music and then use the iCloud Music Library.
