Apple ID/ Credit Card

How do I download free apps from the app store without having a credit/debit card? I have neither of these things and therefore cannot put one in. I've gone to settings and clicked "Change Payment Method" but when I click "None" it still won't work. It still says, "Invalid Payment Method: Your current card type is not supported by this store. Please correct your credit card information." What do I do?
