Activity didn’t capture my Workout

I THINK I may be having the same issue. I have a Series 1 Apple Watch. I don't use the workout app very often, but monitor the activity circles daily, trying to at least close the activity(red) and the stand (blue) circles. For the second time, as I am trying yet again to start an exercise effort, I went for a 40 minute walk using the workout app on my watch. It seemed to work perfectly. I stopped when it showed I'd been walking for around 40 minutes. The Activity App on my phone, under workout, shows a 1.67 mile walk in 40 minutes (not blazing trails here as I get started) but the green exercise ring is only showing that I've completed 13/30 minutes and is not even half way around. This is the second time that this exact same thing has happened. Both the phone (iPhone X) and the watch have been updated and recently rebooted. Any other suggestions? Good afternoon.

All good suggestions from Joseph. Now, this guide might help you getting started with your watch.

What kind of workout were you tracking? Also, did you get a confirmation screen on your watch when you pressed done? If yes, when you say it’s not in the Activity app , I assume that is on your phone. Do you have the same issue within the app on your Watch?

Good afternoon.

Until we know more from the original post here I would say your issue is actually quite different. Tracking you walks with the Activity app does not mean it will count as exercise, your level of avtiviy has to cross a certain treshold that requires more than basic walking to be couted as Excercise. Here is a really detailed post about it.

Apple Watch not properly tracking exercise time

Good afternoon.

No one said you were crazy. You did not provide enough info for us to tell what your issue is.

JCRW workout was recorded, you said yours wasn’t. In his case there is no apparent issue, his Watch seems to work as designed. He was expecting the Workout app to count his entire walk as exercise but it does not work like that. His graphics are pretty clear, only the zone with higher heartrates, around 1h29 to 1h36 and around 1h50 to 1h56, counted as exercise minutes.

If this is indeed what you are reporting then please read the post I linked to, you wil find all your answers there.
