What is the clock looking icon in finder?

In my finder window I have a clock looking icon associated with some files and not others? Not really sure what it means or what it's for.

Hi there, MStarmer!
Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! That is a great question you have about icons you are seeing next to your files on your Mac and I’m happy to help! Check out this article for macOS Sierra: View file, folder, and disk information. Specifically:

Pie chart: The pie chart status icon User uploaded file gradually increases from clear to dark as the files are transferred.

The same pie chart can also appear next to iCloud Drive in the sidebar, where it indicates the overall progress for files transferring to and from iCloud Drive.

Note: Even if the iCloud Status column is not in the Finder window, you can still see the status for most iCloud file transfers next to the folder or file name. The only icon you won’t see is for downloaded items.

Take care!
