That sounds like a good plan. Please, please, do not use canned air. That will just blow the crud into the phone. A soft brush (small, clean paint or make up brush) might also be useful.
"Faint scratches" are a far cry from "badly damaged". But, sure, the mesh could get damaged if something pointy and hard enough were pushed up against it. It can also collect dust and other crud.
The more important question is, are you having any problems with the earpiece?
Thank you for the advice! Also could the mesh scratch in any way?
OK thank you for the clarification, my friend said paper could scratch it but didn't believe him but wanted to double check
Thank you again! 😄
No, I think now that I look at it, it might be lint or other type of debri, tried cleaning it with a microfiber cloth and paper
Sure, if something pointy and hard enough were pressed up against it like the end of a metal nail file, a small screwdriver.
Unless the paper is embedded with metal shavings, that seems unlikely. 😉
Glad it helped!
Can the metal mesh of an iPhone earpiece be scratched or badly damaged
