iPhone 8 plus battery degrading too early

I bought an iPhone 8 plus almost 2months ago and it has so far been great, battery-wise. However, a few days after upgrading to 11.3, I noticed that the battery health meter was showing 99% already. So I checked with coconutBattery and it showed 98.8% with only 22 charge cycles! I‘ve only used an iPad charger since I bought the 8 plus, and rarely drained below 20% or fully charge it.

I estimate that with this rate of degradation, my battery health in 2years would be 70%. For comparison, I have an iPhone 6 that has seen a bit of an abuse when it comes to charging (I charge it whenever, wherever, and while using for video call for hours at a time) and after 3years the battery health is at 85% as per ios 11.3 battery health beta.

Should I be worried with the battery of my Iphone 8 plus? I’ve read some article that the newer iPhones have better battery management but significantly shorter lives.

Brand new battery capacity can vary due to manufacturing tolerances. ±5% can be typical. I wouldn't count on your battery having any linear drop from 100%.

I've got an iPhone 7 bought in Feb 2017. The iOS Beta battery health reading is 96% and seems to be relatively stable. I've also checked it in coconutBattery (shows over 200 cycles) and Battery Health, and I've seen those values vary from anywhere from 92% to 98%. What seems to be the biggest issue is temperature, where it tends to register higher when it's warmer.
