iCloud Drive Merging Folders

Hi all,

My Mac's data was completely wiped. I had my data synced with iCloud for the Documents and Desktop folder.

I've managed to sync my local files with iCloud, but it now syncs with the folder of the format "Macbook name Desktop" and "Macbook Name Documents".

I just want to go back to the way it was, where all my files were in Desktop and Documents folder, without having a new folder for my desktop and documents. I've read that you could merge the files between folders, but iCloud doesn't automatically do this. Any ideas if this is possible?
