iphone 7 and nikon coolpix a300 snapbridge blue tooth paring problem...will not pair.

I have a iphone7, with the latest software installed, and a coolpix a300 camera, latest firmware installed. Both are suppose to be Nikon Snapbridge compatible.

when going thru the sequence to pair these two items, everything looks fine, but I do not get a pairing code to complete the pairing, instead, I get an error msg informing me to make sure the camera is within distance and turned on.

I have reset my iphone7. I have reinstalled the firmware to the a300. I have contacted Nikon on the subject and followed their SOP procedure. they say contact Apple Support.

I have noticed on YouTube, others have experienced a similar problem with other Nikon cameras.

The principal is a nice idea and it would be better if it worked.

iPhone 7, iOS 11.3, Nikon Coolpix A300 firmware ver 1.2

Hi Carolyn,

Thankyou for your reply. However I have already looked at YouTube, it is always a good source of info. I have tried to pair the A300 to an ipad, with the same result. "Error msg make sure your camera is switched on and within distance." The next step should be a pairing code shown on each device.

Who ever generates the pairing code, whether it be the a300 camera, the Snapbridge software or the iPhone/iPad.... is not doing its job. I suspect its the camera not playing the game, but I am unable to prove that.

Others have the same problem with the same equipment.

Never mind, once again thankyou.
