Can I delete group named "export" - (and a name) in contacts and not delete the name in my main group?
In Contacts can I delete a group named "export - (and a name)" and not have the contacts deleted from my main group?

Yes. You can delete a group from the left hand column in Contacts and the contacts in that group will remain in your Contacts. It's just like playlists in iTunes. Deleting the playlist does not delete the tracks in it.
