can't connect to personal hotspot

  • I'm trying to connect a Macbook Pro to an iPhone 6 via personal hotspot.
  • I can see the hotspot on my Macbook in the list of WiFis
  • when I click on the Wifi from the menu bar, after a while an error message dialog appears saying it can't connect
  • I repeat this several times
  • both devices have bluetooth enabled
  • both devices have the latest software updates
  • I'm signed into the same icloud account on both devices
  • I tried manually enabling personal hotspot on the iPhone
  • only after disabling bluetooth on both devices I can connec


Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? It used to work really great before iOS 11/macOS Sierra

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014), macOS High Sierra (10.13.4)

It may be some problem with WiFi plist files.
