Sounds on my iPhone 6 stopped

The sounds on my iphone 6 have suddenly stopped working. When I test them they work fine, but when I actually receive a call or text, or voicemail, etc., all I get is vibrations. Any ideas?

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.1

Check the mute switch on the side of the device.
