How do I modify the iMac Dock for an account that is under Parental Control?

I'm trying to remove some of the apps that are listed in the iMac Dock for an account that is managed under Parental Control. I understand that I should be able to just drag the items off the Dock to remove them, but this is not working.

I've unchecked the box under Parental Controls that prevents the Dock from being modified, but this has not fixed the problem. Any ideas on what needs to be done?

Try Control click (right click) the icon in the dock then select Options-Remove from Dock.

I assume you are signed in as an administrator and the parent/person setting up the controls?

You could simply leave all the apps there - if you have them on the list, they won't open (you can specify which apps can be accessed under the apps tab).

And, have you tried to tick the "Use Simple Finder"?
