Plug-ins visible and active in 'Plug-in Manager' but cannot be used

I am able to view my Plug-ins via the 'Plug-in Manager' but cannot select them for use via the 'Audio Units' drop-down menu. I have followed all of the steps provided in the link below, rebooted my machine several times and attempted a re-install of Logic Pro X, all to no avail. The plug-ins show as having been 'successfully validated' but cannot be selected upon leaving the plug-in manager menu..

Thanks in advance!

In your screenshot, there is an ES2 in the instrument slot. You can replace that ES2 with any other installed instrument plugins, the same way you can replace insert plugins, by dropping down that list as you showed in your screenshot, and choosing a plugin from the subfolder.

"just" Instruments, FX, they're all plugins. I don't know why you say "just" instruments - instruments are generally more complicated than "just" insert FX plugins...

The screenshot above shows that the Plug-in Manager is "recognizing" my current installed plug-ins, (both Logic as well as 3rd party plug-ins).

The 3rd party plug-ins (Logic, NI, u-he) also show, via the 'successfully validated' checkbox, that they are ready for use. However, attempting to open them through the Audio Unit Insert option yields no result, they are not available for selection, as shown in the screenshot below..

It seems my issue was the 'ES2' pane, I wasn't selecting the plugin from that specific drop-down menu. Clicking on the ES2 instrument allowed me to switch to the available plugins. A very novice mistake made by a Garageband user. Thanks again for the help!

I do not understand that link - it seems to be about revalidating 3rd party plugins. Logics plugins are not third party and do not go through the validation process as they do not have to, and they can't. They are built in to the app.

However, I do also not understand what you mean by "the Audio Units drop-down menu". Can you show a screenshot of that? Normally you'd either select an Audio Unit Insert on an audio or instrument channel strip, or, if it is an instrument, on an instrument channel strips' instrument slot. You can do this in the mixer, or in the inspector on the left.

Mmm... you show the dropdown for an Insert Slot, but Massive is an instrument, and U-he, though they do make insert FX plugins, also make synths - so. If the U-he are also just instruments, you effectively have no 3rd party insert plugins installed. If you'd drop down the (instrument) slot now containing an ES2, you may well see both the NI folder (for Massive) and the U-he folder (for whichever U-he instrument you got installed).

Thanks for your help and quick reply Eriksimon.

Can you clarify this part a bit more,?

"If you'd drop down the (instrument) slot now containing an ES2."

How do I go about this? And if the NI Massive install and U-he install are in fact just instruments, why do they appear in the Plugin Manager for use?

Thanks again for your help!
