Regex syntax

I need some help with formulating backreferences in regular expressions. I am trying to construct the replacement string.

I want to backreference \1 but need to follow up the expression with a number. Notice how \14 is highlighted. How do I say the backreference is only \1? Ultimately, I'll be using sed to change filenames, but I thought I'd start with TextWrangler.
