iPhone X unlocks itself in pocket

I have an iPhone x, up to date running iOS 11.3, which seems to be unlocking in my pocket by itself?

It happens about 50% of the time. I finish texting, lock my iPhone and put it in my pocket only to realise my Apple Watch isn't getting notifications because the phone has unlocked itself!

Any one else having the same issue? It was still happening with the last version of iOS

Hello brittelso,

Found out from a post from KiltedTim, that there is an option:

[Settings] -> [Display & Brightness] -> Raise To Wake.

I turned that off and it seems that did the trick.

OK, [adjusted attitude: ON]:

I have a single pair of jeans where this happens.

Probably the pocket material conducts capacity, and so the touchscreen mistakes my leg movement for touchscreen tampering.

Butt(pun intended), my phone has Face-ID set, for login security.

How can it unlock, as long as my face is out of sight?

Thank You,

Best regards,

Sorin Macău.
