Terrible typing lag when typing location address on iphone calendar events

When entering a new event on my iphone calendar, I often have to type in an address. The lag is so painfully slow that I have taken to just typing location in the notes. The location entry is basically useless - especially when someone is verbally giving me the address and I'm trying to type it. PLEASE FIX. I know Apple's trying do some kind of predictive/on the fly address search as I'm typing - but there should be a way to turn it off or it should search after I've finished typing instead of seizing up after I type each letter.

First, make sure your iPhone is running the latest software version.
Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If your software was already updated or if the issue persists, restart your iPhone. Restarting can resolve many unexpected behaviors
