why the option for adding people is grey for file sharing in iCloud drive

I have the latest MacOS Sierra installed in my iMac. I like to share the files in the folder of iCloud drive with my friend. When I clicked on the share option. It shows the options such as mail, reminders, notes, msg, sent to chat. but I can not add people. how to fix this problem? Thanks much

How can I setup file sharing with another user on my mac and at the same time have those files on icloud? Hello, I am trying to setup a folder where my wife and I can share files on our Macbook (we share a single one). But, I would like for those files to be in the cloud "as well", on iCloud. I can't setup a folder that is under the "documents" folder that can be shared, and the "Public" folder is not selectable to be on iCloud. Is there an alternative? Thanks!
