Delete "top hits" on Safari 11.1

When I open Safari 11.1 on my powerbook, I get a screen that starts at the top with a category called "Top Hits" that contains two URLs.

I did not enter either one of these URLs, and I want to get rid of them. However, I have searched high and low through the Apple support community and not found anything that works. There is a great deal of confusion about what "Top Hits" even is as a category; there are references to things happening in some form of Apple email.

I am not talking about email. I am talking about the browser Safari.

Thanks for the help.
