Question: I have a 16gb phone but i also pay a cloud. How come im out of space but i still have space in m cloud? How do i fix that??

I Have a 16gb 6s iphone. My storage is full but i have free space in my icloud. why is that?

iCloud Storage and iPhone Storage are two entirely different things. iCloud Storage does not, in any way, supplement your iPhone Storage. iCloud is a syncing/sharing service, not an external archival service.

Here is a User Tip that I wrote regarding how iCloud works that may provide some additional insight into how iCloud works: iCloud Deconstructed | Communities


Most cloud services are archival services, but iCloud is unique in its approach, so can be very confusing. But the overarching design is that it is intended to share data between all devices and computers that are signed into the same iCloud account and which are using the same services.


Post back if you have any additional questions regarding the iCloud side of things! And if you want to reduce the amount of storage being used on your iOS device, the article you linked from will provide recommendations on how to do that.
