See this article and a screen shot macOS Sierra: App Store preferences
Wouldn't it be nice if Apple would provide such info when asking to apply these updates?
That would require Apple to know, among other things, the speed provided by your Internet Service Provider as well as the identity of all of your hardware. They don't have a crystal ball.
Yes, also letting users know that when the screen goes black at times during the update your Mac hasn't died. You can send feedback to Apple here.
It varies depending on the hardware. I'd allow a good hour, maybe longer.
Also, the download portion is dependent on the speed of your internet and the traffic on the server.
Thanks. Wouldn't it be nice if Apple would provide such info when asking to apply these updates?
Not helpful, Larry, They have a pretty good handle on hardware; they and only they make it. My question has nothing to do with download time, only installation. Troll elsewhere.
So Apple knows whether you have an SSD or a 4800 rpm HD, whether you’re booted from a USB 2 external. Yea, believe what you want to believe. It’s Lanny not Larry.
You’re the troll.
