MBP 13" - OS and Screen freezes on wake

When I open the mbp after say few hours of sleep, the screen comes back to life and in a second or two it freezes making me to cold reboot / long press the power button. I'm on high Sierra 10.14.3 -- Any suggestions?

MBA freezes overnight, will not wake. I just upgraded to 10.15.5 from 10.14. Everything works fine except for one problem. For the past two nights, since the OS upgrade, my Macbook Air (purchased in 2017) refuses to wake in the morning. Eight hours of non-use freezes the computer. There are uploads running overnight, but these are not enough to keep the computer operational. In the morning I can hear the fans running, but the keyboard and screen are dark, and no amount of key tapping will wake the computer. I have to restart the Air to get back to work. As you can imagine this is extremely annoying. May I have a few suggestions as how to track down this problem and make a fix? Thanks everyone.

waking from "sleep" problem mid 2012 non retina MBP. over the past year i've noticed a change in my MBPs behavior when waking from long sleep. after a few hours, any activity will wake up the screen and computer as normal, but if it sits overnight or an extending period of time, when i press a button i hear the hard drive spinning (like when its initially turned on) and i get a grey screen with bars on the bottom that signify time elapsing. the login screen pops up but is frozen for about a minute, before it registers key strokes or mouse movement. I've tried changing the sleep settings, and not having "put hard disk to sleep when possible" checked, and reset the NVRAM and SMC. in terminal it showed no changes to the sleep mode for my MBP. wondering what's causing this and why/how to keep it from happening.
