Messaging change? iOS 4.3

Before updating to iOS 4.3 I could swear that if I was actively in a text message on my phone and someone responded I wouldn't get notification on my watch, as I was actively in that text message.

IF I was in that specific message but another person sent me a text I would get notification of that on my watch.

Now it seems regardless of who sends the message or if I'm actively in that message I'm getting prompted on my watch for each one. Also the notifications aren't clearing if I loo
