I keep getting this message when I try to log into ITunes You Cannot open the Itune application because its being updated

Every time I try to log into ITunes I get a message that I cannot open the application for ITunes because it is being updated. Ive gotten this for the past 3 days

iPod classic 160GB (Late 2009)
